He is a Fellow of IEEE, a Member of the Academy of Europe, a Member of European Academy of Sciences and Arts, and Fellow of Pakistan Academy of Sciences.His research interests include neutral networks, computational intelligence, complex networks and complex systems, etc. His research work has had a profound impact in many fields. According to ISI-Web of Science 2018, his H-index is 93, and he has been named as Highly-Cited Researcher in Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science by Thomson Reuters.
